Published in 1996, this study, (taken from the New England Journal of Medicine) speaks to testosterone and muscle strength and size. The heart is a muscle and has more testosterone receptors than any other muscle in the human body according to Eugene Shippen, MD in his book The Testosterone Syndrome. We also learn from this study that T levels of 3322 ng/dl were achieved in some study subjects without significant side effects other than acne. Anger and Rage studies were performed and found no increase in anger or rage. While these levels would be considered high (above typical references ranges) the fact that no significant side effects were noted is something of interest to take from the study. PDF
